The Cambridge Dictionary has added over 6,000 new words, including "skibidi," "tradwife," and "delulu," reflecting the growing influence of internet culture on the English language. "Skibidi," popularized by a viral animated YouTube series, is defined as a word that can mean "cool" or "bad," or be used humorously without real meaning. The term gained further attention when Kim Kardashian showcased a "skibidi toilet" necklace on Instagram, referencing the YouTube series as reported by BBC.

"Tradwife," a contraction of "traditional wife," describes influencers who promote traditional domestic roles on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The term "delulu," a shorthand for "delusional," describes the belief in things that are not real or true, often used to describe obsessive fan behavior or a post-truth mindset according to CNN.

Colin McIntosh, the dictionary's lexical program manager, emphasized the enduring impact of internet culture on language, stating that only words with "staying power" are added. Other new entries include "broligarchy," combining "bro" and "oligarchy," to describe powerful tech industry leaders, and "mouse jiggler," a device simulating activity on a computer as noted by The Guardian.
