Actress Jennifer Runyon, best known for roles in the film Ghostbusters and the sitcom Charles in Charge, has died at the age of 65, her family confirmed in a post shared on her Facebook account.

“This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away, it was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family,” the statement reads. “She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. I know from above she’s looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace our Jenn."

Runyon's cause of death wasn't publicly revealed, however, her friend and fellow actress Erin Murphy confirmed that she was battling cancer prior to her death in a post shared on her Facebook account.

"So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer," Murphy wrote. "Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children."

Runyon played Gwendolyn Pierce on the sitcom Charles in Charge during the 1980s and Cindy Brady in A Very Brady Christmas, the 1988 film version of the television series The Brady Bunch, as well as appearing as a female student in the comedy classic Ghostbusters in 1984. The actress was also credited for roles in the soap opera Another World and television shows Quantum Leap and Murder, She Wrote among others.
